The more superyachts that come to San Diego, the more economic vitality is generated for the region’s fast-growing marine industry.
That’s the rallying cry of the San Diego Superyacht Association (SDSA), a new coalition of San Diego’s marine-related companies that serve the local large-yacht industry. The group’s mission is to promote San Diego as a world-class superyacht destination and provide a conduit to marine services and suppliers.

Located on the Sitiawan River, the objective of GOMS was to acquire a 700C Marine Travelift to expand its existing business of ship refurbishment, refitting and repair services for a range of marine vessels; this objective has clearly been achieved. When the 700C is operational in March, the shipyard will increase its capability to service vessels up to 700 tons and will no doubt enhance the future of Malaysia’s maritime industry.

So, there I was holding my breath to beat the band, eyes wide open staring at Patty through my flooded snorkel mask, wondering where the underwater stuff was in my job description of catamaran chef/crew. Sheesh!
I had applied for the job as crew/chef after a "girl’s" vacation to the Virgin Islands where we visited Captains Scott and Cara, friends from Miami. Although I had quite limited boating skills, I had hoped the motivation of a new life in the sparkling Caribbean Sea would carry me through my inexperience.
