Island Global Yachting (IGY) held a groundbreaking ceremony on November 19 to launch its redevelopment of Rodney Bay Marina on St. Lucia. Slated for completion in late 2008, the new facility will feature 252 fully reconstructed slips including the addition of 30 berths dedicated to megayachts.

Sojana won the 2nd annual Superyacht Cup (SYC) Antigua, sailed December 12 to 15 out of Nelson's Dockyard. Great Britain's Peter Harrison's 115-footer accomplished this feat by just 0.3 points, thanks to a triple point rating in the last race.

Anders Johnson's Swan 70, Blue Pearl, earned the overall winner title in the inaugural Transatlantic Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. This event for yachts 70-feet in length and longer, saw a field of seven entries.
